    We’ve just released an enhancement to the Share Queue page which (nerd alert!) uses Ajax to allow you to quickly share your 5 daily bookmarks, without waiting for the page to reload after each one.

    Bookmark Submitted for Sharing

    Note that this only applies to the Free users, as our subscribers don’t have to share bookmarks since they get credits automatically.

    We’ve just rolled out an update to the My Bookmarks page, so that it’s easier to get to the submission history for each bookmark.

    SocialAdr - My Bookmarks - Submission Links

    Simply click the link on a “Submissions” column link and you’ll be taken directly to the History page where you can view the complete details of its social media submissions.

    Enjoy!

    PS. This update is SocialAdr v2.748

    We listened to your requests and made it much easier to update the Submission Rates and Submission Limits of existing bookmarks.

    My Bookmarks - New Submission Control Fields

    If you go to your Bookmarks > My Bookmarks page, you’ll notice two new columns: “Submission Rate” and “Submission Limit”. You can use these to quickly update these attributes of your bookmarks.

    Also, if you attempt to update the Defaults at the top of the page, you’ll notice a popup window like this:

    Default Submission Update Dialog

    This allows you to either mass update all your existing bookmarks AND future bookmarks, or just your future bookmarks.

    As always, let us know what you think :)

  • Improved Spin Logic for Social Submissions

    We’ve been reading all the great feedback through our User Voice page, and one enhancement people wanted was for us to generate a unique spintax {|} variation for every distinct social media submission, and not just for each ‘share’.

    We took this to heart and got it done.

    Here’s an example…

    Bookmark Title = SocialAdr is {awesome|great|kickass|super duper|swell}

    Before

    When a Free user sees this bookmark, decides they like it, and clicks a button to submit it to their social accounts, our processing engine would generate a spintax variation of the Title, and use that for all the social accounts for that user.

    Delicious = SocialAdr is awesome

    StumbleUpon = SocialAdr is awesome

    Pinterest = SocialAdr is awesome

    Diigo = SocialAdr is awesome

    …and so on…

    Now

    Now our processing engine generates a spintax variation of the Title for each of the social accounts for that user.

    Delicious = SocialAdr is awesome

    StumbleUpon = SocialAdr is kickass

    Pinterest = SocialAdr is super duper

    Diigo = SocialAdr is swell

    …and so on…

    Hopefully that makes sense :)

    We weren’t super concerned with the old logic, because search engines don’t discover all the links immediately anyways, it can often take weeks for them to discover some of the links.  And if your bookmarks are receiving submissions each day, and for every user who shares your bookmarks a spintax variation is generated, over time there should be a lot of variety.

    But…this new logic is definitely better, there’s no doubt about that.  It’s yet another step forward in reducing a footprint.

    * this update is v2.740

  • You can now recover deleted bookmarks

    If you’ve ever tried to delete a bookmark in SocialAdr, you’ve likely noticed this warning message:

    The reason we tried to make it absolutely clear in this message that deleted bookmarks could not be recovered is because the process is truly frustrating.  The CMS that SocialAdr is built on, Elgg, had bookmarking capabilities already, and when a bookmark was deleted it was gone…permanently.  We’ve kept it this way since the very beginning.  So if you ever deleted a bookmark and then wanted to add it back, you had to email Support and get us to help you through the process.

    Well, we heard your complaints and took action.  Now, when you delete a bookmark, you’ll see a less-terrifying warning message, but…they are no longer *really* gone.  They get disabled and disappear from your “My Bookmarks” page, and you won’t receive any social submissions on them anymore, but they still exist and can be recovered.

    Introducing, the Deleted Bookmarks page!

    You’ll see this new sub-menu item by clicking the “Bookmarks” main menu.

    The  button will attempt to undelete any deleted bookmarks you can see.  Alternatively, you can click the  button beside each bookmark to undelete only that bookmark.  Easy!

    Feel free to leave any comments/questions below.

    PS. This new functionality is release v.2.732.
