Something happened today that totally “shocked” me

First, let me just say if you hate puns you might want to skip this story.
As you may know, I’ve been living out in Utah doing a lot of skiing this winter. Well today, I hit the slopes to enjoy some fresh snow we got last night. It had continued right into the day, so it was coming down pretty good.
My buddy and I hit one of our favorite runs (which was beautiful), and headed for the lift. We heard the operator talking on the phone and say something about shutting it down. Sure enough, as we hopped on he said that they were getting ready to stop running it.
When we got to the top, they told us that there were reports of lightning and all the lifts were closing.
Lightning? In a snowstorm?
Sure enough, just a few minutes later there was a bright flash in the sky and a deafening peel of thunder. There I was, snow swirling all around me, and right in the middle of a thunderstorm. What a “shock”!
